This stretch of river was damaged from a severe flood. The aquatic and riparian ecosystem that supported the excellent fishing was completely destroyed along with the natural look of an established river channel.
One of the many pleasures of being a specialized environmental restoration company is working with others who share the common goal of returning our environment to its natural state and processes. The original project design called for removal of significant amount of trees where a floodplain bench needed to be created to protect life and property.
Oxbow worked with government and private land owners to propose a revised design that achieved required channel capacity while preserving more trees. Success means working with nature instead of against it.
